Computer-Delivered IELTS

Wednesday, 24th July 2019

Did you know that you can take the General or Academic IELTS test on a computer? The computer-delivered test (also called the computer-based test) can be taken in many countries, including the UK. If you choose to take the computer-delivered test, you will take the Listening, Reading and Writing test using a computer. The speaking test is face to face with an examiner. All aspects of the test are the same as the paper-based test, including question types, content and marking. The timings for each part of the test are also the same except for the Listening, which is slightly different from the paper-based test. This is because the paper-based test gives test-takers 10 minutes to transfer answers to an answer sheet and this is not necessary when answering directly on a computer. The two big advantages of the computer-delivered test are that there are more test dates available and you will receive your results in 5 to 7 days!
