IELTS Writing Task 2: Transporting Children To School Question

Here is an IELTS Writing Task 2 question that came up in the exam in January 2018:

Some people believe that it is the responsibility of the government to transport children to school. Others say it is the responsibility of the parents to transport their children to school. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Achieving A 7.0 In IELTS Writing Task 2

Many of my students ask me what is important in order to achieve a 7.0 or higher in IELTS Writing Task 2. I believe that 5 main things are required:

1. Good planning/thinking of ideas before writing 2. Good grammar (tenses, articles) 3. Good organisation/structure (paragraphs, topic sentences) 4. Use of topic vocabulary 5. Keeping relevant to the question
